From Amsterdam to London: Olivia's journey for Winston's Wish
In March 2023, BrisTechTonic supported the Walk for Winston's Wish Black Tie Ball. The event was organised by family members to support Winston's Wish, a charity that helps grieving children.
Ten years ago, Olivia and Harvey lost their mum, Caroline. Their dad Russell lost his wife. Every March since, the family has organised an annual walk in her memory. Winston's Wish supported the family after their loss, and the walk is their way of giving back, raising funds and bringing the local community together to remember Caroline.
About Winston's Wish
Winston's Wish is a UK charity that supports children, teenagers and young adults dealing with bereavement. Their support includes:
- One-to-one counselling
- Group support sessions
- Online resources and a helpline
- Practical advice for families on talking to children about death
- Help with legal, financial and funeral planning
The charity also raises awareness, trains professionals who work with children, runs community outreach and funds research into how bereavement affects young people. Every child's grief is different, so their support is tailored to each family and puts the child's needs first.
2023: 10 marathons in 10 days for the 10th year
To mark the 10th anniversary, Olivia, Harvey and Russell hosted a Black Tie ball with dancing, entertainment and fundraising. To go further, Olivia and her partner walked from Amsterdam to London, completing 10 marathons in 10 days.
BrisTechTonic sponsored the evening, applying the same care to community work that we bring to client work in areas like local SEO and Google Business Profile support for Bristol businesses. Moor Park Golf Club hosted the event.
