BrisTechTonic is a Bristol SEO agency that helps UK businesses get found on Google, the local map pack and the AI assistants they now ask, like ChatGPT and Perplexity. Crawl and indexation is the technical SEO work of controlling which of your pages search engines find, read and keep on their list of results. It covers the rules that tell search engines where to go, your sitemap, the links between your pages, the signals that flag duplicate pages, page status codes, and making good use of the limited time search engines spend on your site, so your important pages get listed and read while thin, duplicate and dead pages are kept out. Done well it stops that time being spent on pages that will never earn a visit, and makes sure the ones that make you money can actually rank and be quoted.
Problems with getting your pages listed rarely announce themselves. They show up as a plateau, a launch that never took off, or rankings that never quite arrive despite good content and links. Underneath, a stray rule blocking search engines, two pages fighting over which is the original, or a poor site structure is keeping your best pages off Google's list.

We work it out before we act: we look at what search engines actually do on your site, tell the real blockers apart from harmless warnings, and fix the causes in the templates rather than one page at a time.
If Google cannot crawl it, nothing else you do counts.
These are industry figures, not our own results, and we do not invent numbers. Technical work rarely shows on the page, but it is the ceiling everything else runs into. No outcome is ever guaranteed.
What does Crawl and indexation cover?
A clear picture of what Google has listed
A clear picture of which pages are listed on Google, which are left out and why, taken from Google Search Console and a real read of your site rather than a tool's guess.
Making good use of Google's time
Messy web addresses, filter-generated pages and long chains of redirects tidied up, so search engines spend their limited time on the pages that earn visits.

The signals that decide which pages get listed, the rules that guide search engines, your sitemap and your duplicate-page tags, all made consistent, so they back each other up instead of pulling in different directions.
Explore →What Google can actually see and reach
Content that only shows up after extra code runs, or sits behind something search engines are blocked from loading, made reachable so a search engine can actually see and list it.

What clients say about working with us.
“I've had the pleasure of working with Chris on several SEO projects for my websites in the health field. He was definitely been able to demystify things so that I felt able to make decisions with him and feel confident they were the right ones. For a non-techie, that is worth gold! I look forward to working with Chris again and warmly recommend him to anyone who - like me - is unsure about all things SEO.”
“I was recommended by my branding partner to use Chris and his team last year. I can’t recommend them highly enough. They are very responsive , easy to communicate with and great at translating techy stuff when needed. They are now an essential part of my business model”
“We've been working closely with Chris, Hannah and the team for over 12 months now. As a small company with ambitious growth plans, it was incredibly important that we made the right choice on who to trust with our SEO. 18 months later, we're totally thrilled with our experience so far and our growing online presence within our market. We'd happily recommend BTT and their services to other SMEs. Drop them an enquiry!”

The way we run Crawl and indexation.
Instrument
We bring together a full read of your site, the record of what Google actually did on it, and Google Search Console, so we see what search engines really do rather than what we assume.
Fix at the source
The rules that guide search engines, the duplicate-page tags, your sitemap, internal links and page status codes, all corrected in the templates and settings.
Monitor coverage
We track which pages are listed over time, so a new template or a site move does not quietly drop your pages.
How do we approach Crawl and indexation?
Find what is not indexed, and why
We use Google Search Console, a full read of your site, and the record of what Google actually did on it, to see which important pages are being left out, which are quietly dropping off, and what is getting in the way.
Spend Google's time where it pays
Messy web addresses, dead links and endless auto-generated pages waste the limited time search engines give you. We tidy them up so search engines reach the pages that matter.
One clear signal per page
The rules that guide search engines, the tags that flag duplicate pages, your sitemap and your internal links are all made to agree, so nothing contradicts and confuses which pages should be listed.
Kept clean as the site changes
New templates and website changes tend to bring these problems back. We keep watch so any slip is caught before it costs you rankings.
Real people doing the work, and putting their name to it.
You deal with our small, experienced Bristol team directly, from the first call to every monthly report.

Are we the right fit for you?
Thinking of switching from another agency?
Moving your Crawl and indexation to us is more straightforward than staying somewhere that is not working. You keep everything you already own, we pick up without a gap, and we can run the whole thing for you or work alongside your team and your developers, whatever suits.
A free look first
We review what your current agency has done, tell you straight what is worth keeping and where the quick wins are. No obligation to move.
You keep what's yours
Your site, content, Google Business Profile and analytics stay in your name. We work with what you already have; nothing is held hostage.
A clean handover
We map the work across, set a plain-English baseline in the first few weeks, and carry on from there. No starting from zero, no quiet ranking gap.
Three-month minimum, then rolling monthly on 30 days’ notice. No long lock-in, no exit fees.
Read from real crawler behaviour, not a tool export?
Getting pages listed is a matter of judgement: two pages quietly fighting over which is the original on a page that earns you money matters more than a thousand harmless warnings on pages nobody visits. We work from the record of what Google actually did and from Search Console, so we fix what is really keeping you off the list.
Logs over assumptions
The record your server keeps shows what search engines genuinely load, which is often very different from what a tool assumes.
Prioritised by revenue
We fix the blockers on the pages that make money first, not the longest list of low-impact warnings.
Verified against the index
Every change is checked against how search engines actually read and list the page before we call it done.

Crawl and indexation: common questions.
Why are my pages not being indexed?
Usually a rule that blocks search engines, a tag pointing to a different page as the original, thin or duplicate content, or something that hides the content from search engines. We find the specific cause from Search Console and a full read of your site rather than guessing.
What is crawl budget, and do I need to worry about it?
Crawl budget is roughly how much time search engines will spend reading your site. Small sites rarely need to worry; large or messy ones waste it on cluttered web addresses and dead pages, starving the pages that matter. We tidy that up.
How is this different from technical SEO generally?
It is the part of technical SEO that decides what gets found and listed at all. It sits alongside what Google can see, your site structure and speed, and it is usually where the fastest gains hide, because you are lifting a ceiling rather than pushing against one.
Will you remove pages from the index?
Where they hurt you, yes. Thin, duplicate or out-of-date pages that weaken your signals are better merged, or told not to appear in search, so your standing points at one strong page instead of being spread across many weak ones.
